The Cottage Story

Beginnings

I’ve always liked making and trading things. Chickencat Cottage started as a tiny plant seller and trinket maker in San Diego during the pandemic. Through it I sold a couple of things on Etsy, and some directly to folks. My mom and I grew plants in our yard, and we'd spend evenings after work watching shows and crafting together.

After the shutdowns were lifted, we would frequent maker markets and local events as vendors. Our most common location was outside of Coffee Cycle Roasting in Pacific Beach. We learned a lot!

Our goals starting out were to have a fun time and make enough money for snacks. Goal achieved!

A Bump

I had a major surgery in 2022, and our cottage adventure took an abrupt pause in 2023. Life happened, including two moves across the country! I spent a few years handling all these big changes and spending time in recovery mode. Beryl taught me what hurricanes are like.

Little projects like cottage recipe cards, crochet critters, and ceramics kept me hopeful for the day I'd be able to continue the Cottage!

New Horizons

As of 2026, we're back and ready to share our adventures again! While this is still mainly a one-Chicky show, I have been working on collaborative projects and learning alongside other artists. Chickencat Cottage is back to trinket-crafting, joined by Flights and Fables Atelier - the cottage's art-centered wing!

Wish us luck as we also search for Home. Once we find a Home we will be able to set up a proper, physical cottage and atelier!
